What it looks like

The Elite Barbarians is a Common card that is unlocked from the Hog Mountain (Arena 10). It spawns two fast, single-target, ground-targeting, melee, ground troops with high hitpoints and very high damage. Their deployment is in a horizontal formation. They resemble normal Barbarians, except they wear a horned helmet with a team-colored stripe and edges. An Elite Barbarians card costs 6 Elixir to deploy.

Trivia

  • The word "Barbarian" comes from the Greek "βάρβαρος" (bárbaros), meaning foreign. Dating back to the ancient Greek times, the Greeks referred to non-Greek people as barbarians because the language they spoke sounded to Greeks like gibberish represented by the sounds "bar..bar..;". In the Italian, Arabic, and Thai language settings of the game, the Elite Barbarians' name translates to "Chosen Barbarians", "Distinguished Barbarians", and "Skilled Barbarians" respectively. The Elite Barbarians are 1 of 6 cards associated with Barbarians, with the others being Barbarian Launcher, Battle Ram, Barbarian Hut, Barbarian Barrel, and of course, Barbarians. According to a Clash-A-Rama comic strip, the Barbarians follow a career path, with the Elite Barbarians being the highest-ranking ones.
  • The Elite Barbarians are 1 of 7 troops that has had its movement speed classification changed, the others being Skeleton Barrel, Suspicious Bush, Goblin Brawler, Cannon Cart, Lumberjack, and the Mighty Miner.
  • The Elite Barbarians are 1 of 23 troops that have been featured in the Troop Rush game mode, the others being Skeletons, Skeleton Dragons, Fire Spirit, Bats, Firecracker, Rascal Girls, Royal Hogs, Heal Spirit, Elixir Golem, Guards, Prince, Balloon, Golem, Wall Breakers, Ram Rider, Sparky, Phoenix, Royal Ghost, Bandit, Lumberjack, Santa Hog Rider, and the Monk.
  • The Elite Barbarians resemble the Level 6 Barbarian in Clash of Clans. Their Star Level 2 Skin resembles the Level 7 Barbarian in Clash of Clans.
  • The helmets they wear may be a reference to the Iron Helmet that the Dragonborn wears in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is one of the most iconic helmets in the game.
  • In the card's description, the "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" line is a reference to the house song "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by the Daft Punk.
  • Elite Barbarians in Touchdown mode wear American football helmets instead of their regular helmets seen in standard battle.
  • The Elite Barbarians are featured in non-Clash games. More specifically: The Elite Barbarians, along with the Archers, Goblins, Barbarians, and P.E.K.K.A, were featured as a monster in Puzzles and Dragons, in a dungeon called Clash of Clans Dungeon. While not available as a character, the Elite Barbarians are available as a promoted form for the Barbarian in Squad Busters.
  • The Elite Barbarians are the subject of 3 Emotes. It is also 1 of 3 cards in which an Emote it is the subject of relates to one of its Star Levels, the others being the Hog Rider and Rocket.
