What it looks like
The Goblin Cage is a Rare card that is unlocked from the Goblin Stadium (Arena 1). It spawns a building with moderate hitpoints. When defeated, it will spawn a Goblin Brawler, which is a fast, single-target, ground-targeting, melee, ground troop with high hitpoints and high damage. It appears to be a wooden cage with four metal supports, a lock on the front, and a pair of bars at each side, while the Goblin Brawler appears as a larger, buff Goblin with a unibrow, white bands tied on his hands, and tattoos printed on his back and arms. He is also the same as that spawned by the Party Hut. A Goblin Cage card costs 4 Elixir to deploy.
Trivia
- Goblins are small, grotesque, monstrous creatures that appear in the folklore of multiple European cultures. First attested in stories from the Middle Ages, they are ascribed conflicting abilities, temperaments, and appearances depending on the story and country of origin, ranging from mischievous household spirits to malicious, bestial thieves. They often have magical abilities similar to a fairy or demon, such as the ability to shapeshift. Similar creatures include duendes, kobolds, leprechauns, and ghouls. In the German and Dutch language settings of the game, the Goblin Cage's name translates to "Kobold Cage". In the Spanish, Italian, Russian, Arabic, and Vietnamese language settings of the game, the Goblin Cage's name translates to "Strongman's Cage", "Cage for Goblins", "Cage with Goblin", "Ghoul Cage", and "Leprechaun Cage" respectively. The Goblin Cage is 1 of 17 cards associated with Goblins, with the others being Spear Goblins, Goblin Gang, Baby Goblins, Dart Goblin, Goblin Demolisher, Suspicious Bush, Goblin Hut, Goblin Giant, Goblin Barrel, Goblin Curse, Goblin Drill, Goblin Machine, Party Rocket, Party Hut, Goblinstein, and of course, Goblins.
- The Goblin Brawler is inspired by a goblin prisoner character in the Clash-A-Rama episode "Giant vs. Giant Problem". In Clash Royale, the Goblin Brawler was imprisoned by the Goblins due to being too violent, as seen in a short.
- The Goblin Cage is one of the first building cards to receive a card render, alongside the Mortar, Tesla, and Goblin Hut.
- The Goblin Cage is one of the first cards to be featured in the Season Shop, alongside the Goblins and Goblin Giant.
- The Goblin Brawler is 1 of 7 troops that has had its movement speed classification changed, the others being Skeleton Barrel, Elite Barbarians, Suspicious Bush, Cannon Cart, Lumberjack, and the Mighty Miner.
- The Goblin Brawler resembles the Sneaky Goblin from Clash of Clans, although he has different clothing on.
- Its Star Level 3 Skin grants the Goblin Brawler a red mohawk similar to the Level 6 Goblin in Clash of Clans.
- A broken Goblin Cage can be seen on the Trophy Road as a decoration.
- The tattoo on Goblin Brawler's back appears to be a Healer, a troop from Clash of Clans.
- The Goblin Cage has been featured with multiple buffs. More specifically: The Goblin Cage is 1 of 2 buildings that has been featured with a Shield Boost buff, the other being Goblin Hut. The Goblin Cage is the only building that has been featured with a Death Spawn buff.
- The Goblin Brawler, along with the Minions, Bomber, Skeletons, Skeleton Dragons, Ice Spirit, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Mega Minion, Ice Golem, Dart Goblin, Elixir Golem, Guards, Baby Dragon, P.E.K.K.A, Giant Skeleton, Golem, Wall Breakers, Bowler, Executioner, Mega Knight, Inferno Dragon, Royal Ghost, and Lava Hound, are featured as a monster in Squad Busters.
