What it looks like
The Barbarian Barrel is an Epic card that is unlocked from the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). It is an area-damage, ground-targeting spell with a short rectangular area and moderate damage. It can only be deployed on the player's own side. Once the spell reaches its destination, it spawns a single Barbarian. It is a spiked barrel with a Barbarian inside it. A Barbarian Barrel card costs 2 Elixir to deploy.
Trivia
- The word "Barbarian" comes from the Greek "βάρβαρος" (bárbaros), meaning foreign. Dating back to the ancient Greek times, the Greeks referred to non-Greek people as barbarians because the language they spoke sounded to Greeks like gibberish represented by the sounds "bar..bar..;". In the Japanese and Thai language setting of the game, the Barbarian Barrel's name translates to "Rolling Barbarian" and "Barbarian Tank" respectively. The Barbarian Barrel is 1 of 6 cards associated with Barbarians, with the others being Elite Barbarians, Barbarian Launcher, Battle Ram, Barbarian Hut, and of course, Barbarians. According to a Clash-A-Rama comic strip, the Barbarians follow a career path, with the one in the Barbarian Barrel being the lowest-ranking one.
- The Barbarian Barrel, along with Wall Breakers, Rage, and Goblin Curse, are the cheapest Epic cards, costing 2 Elixir.
- The Barbarian Barrel is one of the first spell cards to receive a card render, alongside the Arrows and Rocket.
- It is 1 of 3 spells that can only be placed in the player's territory, the others being Royal Delivery and The Log.
- The Barbarian Barrel is 1 of 23 cards that has had its Elixir cost changed, the others being Bomber, Fire Spirit, Royal Recruits, Cannon, Mortar, Musketeer, Three Musketeers, Heal, Goblin Hut, Bomb Tower, Barbarian Hut, Furnace, Elixir Collector, Skeleton Army, P.E.K.K.A., Wall Breakers, Electro Giant, Bowler, Goblin Barrel, Rage, Fisherman, and the Monk.
- The Barbarian Barrel is 1 of 10 cards to have an alliterative name, the others being the Royal Recruits, Goblin Gang, Mega Minion, Goblin Giant, Cannon Cart, Ram Rider, Dagger Duchess, Boss Bandit, and the Mighty Miner.
- The Barbarian Barrel is the subject of an Emote. The Barbarian Barrel Back in Time Emote is a reference to Back to the Future.
- The Barbarian Barrel was featured in the winning decks of multiple Clash Royale Tournaments. More specifically: The Barbarian Barrel was featured in the winning deck of the Clash Royale League 2019 Tournament, by a player called Surgical Goblin. The Barbarian Barrel was featured in the winning deck of the Clash Royale League 2020 Tournament, by a player called Ruben. The Barbarian Barrel was featured in the winning deck of the Clash Royale League 2021 Tournament, by a player called Mugi.
- If a Monk activates Pensive Protection in the corner of the Arena, then an opposing Barbarian Barrel will be deflected out of the Arena's bounds. However, the Barbarian will spawn inside the Arena. Thanks to the Monk, it is possible for a Barbarian Barrel to deal damage to Crown Towers by itself. Unlike other spells, it will not deal reduced damage.
- On 3/1/2024, the Barbarian Barrel was supposed to receive a 7% damage decrease, but this change was pulled back last minute.
