What it looks like
The Goblin Curse is an Epic card that is unlocked from Serenity Peak (Arena 14). It is an area-damage, air-targeting spell with a medium radius and very low damage that is dealt every second for 6 seconds. If those troops are defeated, they would convert into Goblins. It is a lime-colored liquid encased in a large vial, which is secured by a thin rope, with a large, rectangular wooden cap with three golden hairs, a circular mouth, two large ears, and two green, gem-shaped eyes on the front, resembling a Baby Goblin. A Goblin Curse card costs 2 Elixir to deploy.
Trivia
- Goblins are small, grotesque, monstrous creatures that appear in the folklore of multiple European cultures. First attested in stories from the Middle Ages, they are ascribed conflicting abilities, temperaments, and appearances depending on the story and country of origin, ranging from mischievous household spirits to malicious, bestial thieves. They often have magical abilities similar to a fairy or demon, such as the ability to shapeshift. Similar creatures include duendes, kobolds, leprechauns, and ghouls. The Goblin Curse is 1 of 17 cards associated with Goblins, with the others being Spear Goblins, Goblin Gang, Baby Goblins, Dart Goblin, Goblin Demolisher, Suspicious Bush, Goblin Cage, Goblin Hut, Goblin Giant, Goblin Barrel, Goblin Drill, Goblin Machine, Party Rocket, Party Hut, Goblinstein, and of course, Goblins.
- The Goblin Curse may have been inspired by the Party Rocket as they both turn opposing troops into Goblins.
- The Goblin Curse, along with Wall Breakers, Barbarian Barrel, and Rage, are the cheapest Epic cards, costing 2 Elixir.
- The Goblin Curse deals the lowest damage of all spells, with 57 damage at Level 16 and 22 damage at Level 6.
- The Goblin Curse is 1 of 4 damaging spell cards that does not contain the phrase "Reduced damage to Crown Towers." in its description despite dealing reduced damage to Crown Towers, with the others being Earthquake, Rage, and Tornado.
- A Barbarian is featured on the Goblin Curse's card render.
- When deployed, a whispering voice will say "Goblin" and laugh. The Goblin Curse is 1 of 3 spells that speak distinct words when on the field, the others being The Log and Party Rocket.
- Unlike other troops, Goblins converted from the spell will disintegrate into Goblin Curse liquid instead of Elixir.
- Before the Goblin Curse's card release, the Goblin Curse’s damage was decreased by 41.9% and its Crown Tower damage was decreased to 20% of its full damage (from 30%).
