What it looks like
The Elixir Golem is a Rare card that is unlocked from Serenity Peak (Arena 14). It spawns a slow, single-target, building-targeting, melee, ground troop with high hitpoints and high damage. When defeated, Elixir Golem splits into two faster Elixir Golemites which have moderate hitpoints and low damage. When the Elixir Golemites are defeated, each one produces two faster Elixir Blobs which have low hitpoints and very low damage. Each part of the Elixir Golem awards the opponent Elixir when destroyed; the main Elixir Golem gives 1 Elixir, and both Elixir Golemites and Elixir Blobs give 0.5 Elixir. The Elixir Golem appears as a massive brute made of Elixir, wearing two team-colored collars on its arms, with its Elixir Golemites being smaller versions with the team-colored collar on their waist, and their Elixir Blobs resembling a plain lump of Elixir. An Elixir Golem card costs 3 Elixir to deploy.
Trivia
- The word "Golem" occurs once in the Bible in Psalm 139:16, which uses the word "golmi", that means "my light form", "raw" material, connoting the unfinished human being. A golem is an animated, anthropomorphic being in Jewish folklore, which is entirely created from inanimate matter, usually clay or mud. The most famous golem narrative involves Judah Loew ben Bezalel, the late 16th-century rabbi of Prague.
- The word “Elixir” comes from the Arabic word "اَلْإِكْسِير" (al iksir), which is the word for miracle substances. Dating back to the third century BC, Elixir was rumored to change base metals into gold and prolong life indefinitely.
- The Elixir Golem was designed after a scrapped concept, which involved a monster constructed entirely from Elixir. It was also originally called "Elixir Monster", and it would involve an Elixir Monster that would spawn Elixirmites when destroyed, Those Elixirmites would be fused back to an Elixir Monster if they were not defeated in time. This was later introduced with the C.H.A.O.S Epic Modifier From Blob to Glob.
- The Elixir Golem first made an appearance in an April Fool's image that Supercell posted in a Tweet, showing an 8v8 battle.
- According to a Clash of Clans comment on Reddit, the Elixir Golem was prototyped during the development of TH12 in Clash of Clans. It would have gained strength as it creates destruction, and adopt the Rage Spell's characteristics when destroyed, similar to the Lumberjack. However, it was scrapped due to its complex mechanics.
- The Elixir Golem is 1 of 2 cards being associated with the Elixir mechanic, with the other being Elixir Collector.
