What it looks like
The Flying Machine is a Rare card that is unlocked from the Builder's Workshop (Arena 5). It spawns a fast, single-target, air-targeting, long-ranged, air troop with moderate hitpoints and moderate damage. It appears to be a small turret in a barrel with a rotor with team-colored blades on top. A Flying Machine card costs 4 Elixir to deploy.
Trivia
- The first use of rotorcraft in war was in 1939, where the Soviet Union used the Kamov A-7 autogyro during the Winter War in 20 combat flights. This autogyro was armed with machine guns and rockets and it was used for spotting enemy artillery and several reconnaissance operations. Rotorcrafts are still used to this day, whether that is warfare, rescue operations, or police enforcement. In the Japanese, Chinese, Persian, and Finnish language settings of the game, the Flying Machine's name translates to "Hovering Gun", "Aircraft", "Flying Car", and "Flywheel" respectively.
- According to a Tweet by the Clash Royale Twitter account, the Flying Machine was originally called "Dart Barrel", therefore behaving like the aerial equivalent of a Dart Goblin.
- The Flying Machine is one of the first troop cards to receive a card render, alongside the Archers, Knight, Goblins, Bomber, Skeletons, Barbarians, Bats, Royal Recruits, Skeleton Barrel, Rascals, Musketeer, Giant, Valkyrie, Wizard, Hog Rider, Royal Hogs, Dart Goblin, Zappies, Elixir Golem, Baby Dragon, Skeleton Army, Witch, P.E.K.K.A, Prince, Balloon, Giant Skeleton, Goblin Giant, Hunter, Electro Dragon, Wall Breakers, Bowler, Cannon Cart, Mega Knight, Ram Rider, Miner, Royal Ghost, Ice Wizard, Magic Archer, Bandit, Lava Hound, Night Witch, and Fisherman.
- The Flying Machine's creator is the Master Builder, a character from Clash of Clans' Builder Base. He is also the one piloting the Flying Machine; his legs can be seen sticking out of the Flying Machine in its card image, card render, and also in its reveal trailer.
- The Flying Machine is featured as a Builder Boat in the Royale Scenery in Clash of Clans.
- The Flying Machine was featured in the winning deck of the Clash Royale League 2024 Tournament, by a player called Mohamed Light.
