What it looks like

The Goblin Machine is a Legendary card that is unlocked from the Miner's Mine (Arena 15). It spawns a single-target, ground-targeting, melee, ground troop with high hitpoints and moderate damage. It also carries a rocket launcher on its back that can attack independently from the Goblin Machine. The rocket launcher is an area-damage, air-targeting, medium-ranged troop with very high damage. It has a blind spot, preventing it from attacking enemies inside it. It is a wood and metal mech with team-colored zig zag lines, spikes on the edges, a Goblin emblem in the center, and a team-colored rocket launcher on its back that has a striped team-colored rocket, all controlled by a Baby Goblin who has a magenta mohawk, carries a small hammer on his back, and wears light brown gloves. A Goblin Machine card costs 5 Elixir to deploy.

Trivia

  • Goblins are small, grotesque, monstrous creatures that appear in the folklore of multiple European cultures. First attested in stories from the Middle Ages, they are ascribed conflicting abilities, temperaments, and appearances depending on the story and country of origin, ranging from mischievous household spirits to malicious, bestial thieves. They often have magical abilities similar to a fairy or demon, such as the ability to shapeshift. Similar creatures include duendes, kobolds, leprechauns, and ghouls. In the German and Dutch language setting of the game, the Goblin Machine's name translates to "Kobold Machine". In the Spanish, Arabic, and Vietnamese language setting of the game, the Goblin Machine's name translates to "Duende Machine", "Ghoul Machine", and "Leprechaun Machine" respectively. The Goblin Machine is 1 of 17 cards associated with Goblins, with the others being Spear Goblins, Goblin Gang, Baby Goblins, Dart Goblin, Goblin Demolisher, Suspicious Bush, Goblin Cage, Goblin Hut, Goblin Giant, Goblin Barrel, Goblin Curse, Goblin Drill, Party Rocket, Party Hut, Goblinstein, and of course, Goblins.
  • The first use of rockets were in 1232, when reports appeared describing fire arrows and 'iron pots' that could be heard for 25 kilometers when they exploded upon impact, causing devastation for a radius of 600 meters, apparently due to shrapnel. A "flying fire-lance" that had reusable barrels was also mentioned to have been used by the Jin dynasty. Rockets are recorded to have been used by the Song navy in a military exercise dated to 1245. Rockets are still used to this day for multiple purposes, whether that is military, science, and entertainment. The Goblin Machine is 1 of 5 cards that are associated with rocketry, with the others being Firecracker, Rocket, Party Rocket, and Rocket Silo. The rocket shot by the Goblin Machine resembles the Firecracker’s firework.
  • The Baby Goblins are responsible for creating the Goblin Machine, according to the Clash Royale Goblin Machine Lore Drop video.
  • The Goblin Machine's torso was created using an empty Goblin Barrel.
  • When deployed, the Goblin Machine says "Goblin Machine!". The Goblin Machine is 1 of 24 troops that speak distinct words when on the field, the others being Mini P.E.K.K.A., Mega Minion, Wizard, Hog Rider, P.E.K.K.A., Dark Prince, Bowler, Ram Rider, Electro Wizard, Princess, Ice Wizard, Magic Archer, Lumberjack, Mother Witch, Fisherman, Super Mini P.E.K.K.A., Santa Hog Rider, Super Magic Archer, Golden Knight, Boss Bandit, Archer Queen, Little Prince, and the Terry.
  • The initial balance change for Goblin Machine on the 2/7/2024 balance changes was a 15.5% hitpoints decrease, its first attack time interval increase to 0.5 seconds (from 0.2 seconds), and a rocket first attack time interval increase to 2.5 seconds (from 1.5 seconds), but the rocket first attack time interval increase was pulled back last minute.
  • Before the Goblin Machine’s release, the rocket’s range was decreased to 5 tiles (from 5.5 tiles).
  • The machine the Goblin baby is riding on resembles the Battle Machine from Clash of Clans.
